On My Radar Screen

Happy Friday!!! I can't even believe it is August already...the summer has flown by! What is everyone up to this weekend? My mother-in-law and sister-in-law are visiting for the weekend before leaving NYC on a cruise to Bermuda...lucky ducks!! I am happy they are cruising out of New York so we also get to see them for a few days.

Have you seen the "Departure Wheel" ad for Heineken? Random travelers at JFK airport were asked if they were willing to cancel their travel plans and go to whatever place landed on the wheel...immediately. Would you spin the wheel?

Remember when we talked about the Cronut craze hitting New York? Cronut creator, Dominique Ansel has launched a new dessert for summer that looks amazing - the frozen s'more! It is marshmallow flavored ice cream surrounded by a chocolate cookie covered in marshmallow, which he then torches to caramelize the outside and serves on a smoked wood stick. Which would you rather have? I may have to try both!

Rather than sharing my favorite posts of the week, I am going to share a few of my favorite "instagram-ers"...if you aren't following these ladies on Instagram, you should start immediately!

Vicky Archer, of French Essence, has been featuring her new rental property in Provence - Le Petit Bijou. It is absolutely gorgeous and would make a perfect home base for visiting the area.

I have really enjoyed watching the lovely Jeanne, of Collage of Life, bring her New Hampshire home, Tahilla Farm, to life. It is so gorgeous!

Roseline from This is Glamorous never ceases to amaze me with her stunning photos of all the incredible places she visits.

And, finally, here are two good light, summer books to keep you busy by the pool or on the beach this weekend:

by Cathleen Schine
My favorite book so far of this summer...there are several scenes that take place in Capri that are beautifully written.

by Lori Nelson Spielman
I couldn't stop reading this book...I started it at 10:00 one evening and it was finished by morning.

Have a beautiful August weekend...wherever you may be wandering!
