On My Radar Screen ~ A Few Things OTHER Than Travel

Happy Friday! Is everyone ready for the weekend? I know I am! We are headed to DC to visit our daughter, Caroline - I can't wait to see her, her new apartment and spend some time in one of my all time favorite cities.

For most of you, reading about travel is a mini-escape...for me it is the fabric of my daily life. Sometimes it is nice to explore other things. So, for a little something different today, I am going to share a few things NOT specifically related to travel that have caught my eye this week...

Isn't this the prettiest tablescape ever?? Leave it to the multi-talented Tina from The Enchanted Home to create a truly enchanting party setting! If you have been living under a rock and are one of the very few people in the universe who don't follow Tina's blog, follow it immediately...you don't want to miss even one of her fabulous posts!

Another of my blogging buddies, Vel Criste, is having a baby today! Not only will Vel be adding a little girl to her brood, she writes a great blog and tackles DIY projects in her home that have been featured in magazines...oh and while she is at it, she has a small other job - as a DOCTOR! So I hope you will join me in offering a huge "Congratulations!" to sweet Vel and her new baby girl, Sophia!!

What are you reading these days? I just finished Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. I honestly could NOT put this book down. Next up, Lucky Us by Amy Bloom.

It's a good thing I am not a fashion blogger as my style doesn't stray much beyond the classics. My old stand-by Stubbs and Wootton shoes never go out of style...they are my go to casual shoes for this transitional time of year (and add a fun kick to my uniform of black and white!) And, this dress is at the top of my wish list this fall!

My two great passions besides travel and my family are...cooking AND eating! Here are two of my favorite fall recipes - Butternut Squash Lasagna and Pumpkin Soup. (And if I could eat anything right now and the calories would magically NOT count, it would be these overnight cinnamon rolls shared by Elizabeth of Pine Cones and Acorns!)

If you are a baseball fan (even you Boston fans!), you will love the above video. It made me cry. I love my Yankees and I love "the captain" best of all. This will be a bittersweet weekend for the Yanks...it is truly the end of an era.

See y'all next week! Have an absolutely fantastic weekend...wherever you may be wandering...

xoxo
