Camp Reveille ~ A Unique Getaway for Women

via

Do you dream of being a kid again for a few days and re-living your summers at sleep away camp? Or, maybe you never got to go as a child and want to experience it now? Former Good Morning America host, Joan Lunden, makes that happen for women every year at Camp Reveille in Naples, Maine.

My sister and I traveled up to Maine three years ago and had an amazing experience "roughing" it at Camp Reveille.

Roughing it is a relative term...While we stayed in the same cabins as the boys who attend Camp Takajo (which is owned by Joan's husband, Jeff Konigsberg), for Reveille campers, our beds were made for us with soft linens and throws from Joan's line of home goods.  And, while we did have to walk outside to use the shower room, once there we found it stocked with Murad and Warren Tricomi products. The food was delicious and healthy...and I don't think the boys at Takajo get to have wine with dinner! We even got facials courtesy of Murad and met with a dermatologist who performed a skin cancer check.

We had an absolute blast...doing yoga on the dock overlooking Long Lake, hiking through the woods,  making jewelry and ceramics, eating s'mores around the campfire, participating in a classic camp "Indian Council Fire" and "Color Wars" and just relaxing in the gorgeous setting on the lake. It was wonderful to totally unplug for a few days, meet interesting women from around the country (including Joan and her family, who are all absolutely lovely) and experience life as a summer camper.

This short video sums up the experience far better than I am able:

If you want to unwind for a few days, maybe with a group of friends or family members (lots of mother/daughter and sister groups were there when we were), consider joining Camp Reveille this summer. There are still a few spaces available for this summer's camp which is August 15 -18...go here if you are interested.

(I was not compensated in any way for this...I just wanted to share my own memorable experience with all of you.)
